I was able to get FAULGUY on my license plates.

February 24, 2002

It just wouldn't do to have a complete month missing from my life. Nor would I like to see February 2002 completely undocumented. Sadly, that reason, more than any other is why I'm writing this evening. I looked up and realized that there were only 4 days left in the month, and whose to say that I'll have time to write on those occasions. I'd like to say that I've been busy, but in fact, I just haven't made time for the site. Writer's block could be it. I know that I've reached a creative impasse with my U2 section. Any of the ideas that I have right now would take a lot of work to implement. So, I'm praying that the inspiration comes back soon.

I've been hibernating for the past month. I started playing a video game that I bought last year, and this time I really enjoy it. I didn't have either the time or the patience to play it last year, but it has been a marvelous way to conserve money. Personal Growth suffers, but fiscal depletion is delayed! I'm not sure if the game is the symptom or the cause of my hibernation. I just know that I was more interested in submerging myself in it than working on the house or driving about looking for the next great buy for my home. After buying the car, I had to step back and find out whether I could truly afford it. To put it more accurately, I had to figure out how well I could live under my current budget. It's been a little tricky for me to gauge it all. In November, I had just moved in and with it came necessary purchases. December, Christmas. January, a new car and a new dog. February, holding breath to see how much is left over. I'm not in any danger, I just don't know how much money I can spend on entertainment and savings. I know, what a tough life. I enjoy my comfort zones (a little too much sometimes) and finances allow me to maintain the comfort zone. Fortunately, I'm not sliding into credit card debt or anything like that, but I have bought a house in a car, so it's debt all the same. I have tapered off my internet shopping lately. I went a little crazy during Christmas, but I've eased off. I have to replant my nest egg for rainy days and such. I haven't been able to do that since I spent it all on moving in. The tax return will help, but ultimately, I want a 2 - 3 months of savings for my housing costs. I don't expect that my job will be a problem, but I didn't see the last job going down the toilet either. This is pretty stable work, and my bosses seem to be pleased. So pleased in fact that I was sent to Phoenix in January, and I'll be heading to Oklahoma again in March. Yeah! (Deadpan). At least on this trip I'll get a rental car. So I'll go check out Oklahoma City and see the memorial as well as anything else that I can think of to visit while I'm there.

Fritz and Honey are doing fine. I'm happy to say. Fritz has had only one accident since I returned from Phoenix. For the most part he has been really good about meeting me at the door when he wants to go out. Part of the solution has been a pretty regular schedule for bathroom breaks, and a general paranoia on my part to make sure he doesn't go potty in the house. I often have him go to the bathroom in my yard so that I don't have to carry poop in a plastic baggie throughout the neighborhood. I bring this up, because I finally did a sweep of both my front and back lawns, it was quite surprising to find SO many packages lying about. Many of which were secretly tucked under leaves. I was shocked at the amount of covered land mines that were in the yard. I have to begin doing this more frequently, so that it doesn't pile up. Literally. It helped that the weather was much better today. It was almost 60 degrees out, so it made it almost pleasurable. *wink*

The car is doing fine. I finally straightened out the title. It took several weeks before I got it. It was quite annoying really. Since the car was still being paid for, the owner didn't have the title. The bank did. The bank said that it would it would send the title to the owner, 10 business days after receiving the check. I don't know about you, but when it comes to buying something, I don't want to become chums with the seller. I don't want to hang out several weeks later. I just want it done with. The process took more than 3 weeks to complete. I finally got my plates last Thursday. I locked up my corporate name, but I made a tactical error with the background on the plate. I should have chosen Autumn Leaves, instead of the Virginia Mountains. Still, I was able to get FAULGUY on my license plate, it just would have been just a little sweeter with the Autumn Leaves. It's a fall thing. Speaking of which, I secured my domain name for another 5 years. Yep, I saved $30 and the hassle of doing it later by going for 5 instead of 2.

Well, that's enough for now. Hopefully, I'll get some inspiration soon so that I can really make a dent on this site. We shall see. Sorry for taking so long.
